Dahiru Mangal
Mangal Air
Dahiru Mangal did not contribute to Olusegun Obasanjo’s re-election campaign in 2003, he did not donate to the Obasanjo presidential library, and was never on the board of Transcorp. Nor indeed is he anything like as wealthy as the group typically described as oligarchs.
Dahiru Mangal is, however a well-connected and increasingly prosperous businessman from President Yar’Adua’s native Katsina state with interests in haulage and trading, as well as air charters. Dahiru Mangal is said to have helped finance Mr Yar’Adua’s gubernatorial campaigns in Katsina in 1999 and 2003 and is one of the few businessmen to have the president’s ear.

Dahiru Manga is the foremost smuggler in Nigeria.Enquire of him in the major markets in the Northern Nigeria and you will be dismayed at the level of complicity of the customs in his nefarious activities.Nigeria is a banana Island and that is why a dubious character like Dahiru Manga can feature prominently in the corridor of power.

Ike Moore is very correct, Dahiru Manga is a ruthless smuggler that has used his strong connection with the present ruling oligarchy to bring any contraband that you can think of into Nigeria without any challenge from the custom officers. In fact they give him free access that has become a normal pattern that other smugglers nationwide have formed a sort of alliance with him that will enable them to pay some money to this Manga Guy so as to facilitate sandwiching their lorries of contraband alongside the convoys of Manga’s whenever the customs open the Nigerian boarders just for the smuggler kingpin to pass through immigration check points without any hindrance or harassment.
I am very shocked when I saw him mention on this website as a Nigerian billionaire. He is just a common criminal, in civilized societies his like will rot in jail.
