SatelliteNigerian Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) has awarded Westminster Group a contract to build a high security perimeter “Intruder Detection System” to protect NIGCOMSAT’s main operating base station in Nigeria.

Westminster Group, a UK security and fire alarm firm, will get about $210,000 (£127,000) for installing a high security detection system around the 1.2km site to detect any attempt to scale the wall of the high profile base.

Westminster Group has already started work on the job which is expected to finish during the fourth quarter.

“Nigeria is a country where we see significant growth potential so it is a significant step forward to be actively installing solutions and reinforcing our in-country credentials,” said Peter Fowler, Chief Executive Officer, Westminster Group.
